LeeRoy Martinez, Principal

Principal Martinez is a 24 year veteran in education. He has worked at the high school level, elementary level and currently in the mid-school level. His experience includes ten years as a teacher, two years as an autism specialist and twelve years as an administrator. He is a graduate of Manzano High School; he received his Bachelor of Science from NMSU and his Master of Science degree from UNM. He is married with two children. His love for education started when he was working with children at the YMCA. Mr. Martinez has been heard to say “When I see a student, I see the future — future parents, teachers, firefighters, doctors, artists, writers, etc. That is why we need to support our children; the future depends on it.”

Teresa Armenta, Secretary/Bookkeeper

I have worked for Albuquerque Public Schools for 17 years. I have had many roles at Roosevelt Middle and my fondest experiences at this school are working with the students. Our students are very special to the office staff, they become like our children and we take special pride in their achievements. Our office staff is always available to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful year and feel free to stop by the office and say Hi.

Cee Kaye Nation , Assistant Principal

I was the Instructional Coach at  S.Y. Jackson Elementary before coming to Roosevelt.  I have taught kindergarten through 8th grade for a total of  22 years in education.   I have been married 25 years to a wonderful man who you will meet at all our evening events.  We have two grown children who put the smile on my face and the song in my heart.  Your children have been a pure joy to get to know and am looking forward to a fabulous year.  If you would like to contact me feel free to email me at nation@aps.edu or call school at 281-3316 ext. 13
